Abstract
A model of the nucleus consisting of an alpha particle plus a deuteron is used to calculate angular dis-distributions of the reaction for several neutron energies under the assumption that it is a pickup process. The shapes of the calculated angular distributions are similar to those of the experimental data; however, there is a lack of agreement between experiment and theory at large angles that is ascribed to compound nucleus formation.
