Abstract
The inelastic scattering of 162-MeV pions by has been studied over the angular range 35° to 115° in the laboratory system. The data were analyzed with a model which incorporates shell model wave functions into a distorted wave impulse approximation. Reduced transition probabilities obtained for a number of low-lying states are compared to previous data to validate the model. Among new assignments and shell model descriptions presented for several higher excited states is an assignment for the yrast state.
