Abstract
The effect of electron correlation on the ferromagnetism of a transition metal is investigated by taking an approximate model Hamiltonian which takes into account the effect of interatomic interactions. An approximate solution of the correlation problem for this model is obtained by using the Green-function method. The condition for ferromagnetism for this solution is discussed. Keywords
