Abstract
An IBM–650 program has been developed for the basic purpose of evaluating and comparing Thornthwaite and Penman potential evapotranspiration values and various methods for soil-moisture accounting. To the extent that the existing potential evapotranspiration formulas and soil-moisture accounting procedures are acceptable, the IBM–650 program supplies basic data for drought probabilities or irrigation-water probability studies. Keywords
