Abstract
A preliminary report of bacteriological studies of the flora of mud collected from different locations and depths off the Great Bahama Banks, Andros Island and Willhiams Island, in connection with the International Expedition to the Bahamas, 1930. The opinion is expressed that micro-biological rather than chemical-physical processes are primarily responsible for CaCO3 precipitation at these points. Keywords
