The Alligator in Arizona

Abstract
Three records of occurrence of Alligator mississipiensis in Arizona, 1000 miles from natural habitat, are given. They are traced to: (1) release of a"baby" alligator; (2) release of a 5 foot carnival specimen; (3) release of either type above, resulting in 10 ft. 4 in. specimen in Colorado River. Inherent danger to native Arizona fauna of this and other introduced species is indicated.
