Abstract
Structure-activity relationships of hallucinogens suggested that MDA might produce psy-chotomimetic effects in humans. In a series of trials in 8 subjects, doses of 150 mg of MDA produced none of the perceptual alterations or the depersonalization which was anticipated, but caused heightened affect, emotional empathy and access to feelings which suggested that MDA may be a useful drug if utilized as an adjunct to psychotherapy. Keywords
