Abstract
The relations between free energy of activation and overall free energy change have been derived for two models of proton-transfer reactions, the first involving two intersecting Morse curves, and the second an electrostatic model in which the proton moves between two charged centres. The results are compared with the expression derived by Marcus on the basis of intersecting parabolic potential energy curves. Keywords
