Abstract
Tests were performed to examine the dielectric properties of perfluoropolyether fluids (Fomblin Y) and their transparence to ultraviolet radiation. The purpose was to evaluate the advantage of their use in high-power spark-gaps triggered by pulsed N2 lasers (3371 AA). The results show that the perfluoropolyether fluids exhibit many advantages over the commonly used transformer oils. Keywords
