Abstract
A case of cutaneous alternariosis with superinfection of Candida albicans, treated successfully with natamycin, is reported, and six cases of alternariosis from the literature are reviewed. Alternaria organisms have long been recognized as nonpathogenic for man. However, Alternaria is capable of growing in the keratin and can occasionally serve as a human pathogen. Alternariosis is characterized by crusted ulcerated lesions in exposed areas. Keywords
