Abstract
In the years 1999-2001 625 cases of inguinal and femoral hernias were operated on, among them 538 (86%) laparoscopically. 21 (3.4%) emergency cases of incarcerated hernias were operated, among them 12 laparoscopically (2.3%). In one case the intestine was opened in the course of reposition. Necrotic part of the intestine was also resected laparoscopically. In the remaining cases the resection of the incarcerated organ was not necessary. The author presents the optimal technique in the cases of necessary intestine resection. In these cases after hernia operation it is suggested to exteriorize through minilaparoscopy necrotic part of the intestine and resect it. Moreover, small femoral hernias can be treated by suturing the ring of hernia. Keywords
