Abstract
The crossing of the ground-state band with a band based on a two-particle state has been investigated in the SU(3) limit of the interacting boson model. Energies, transition probabilities, and factors have been calculated. The results obtained in the SU(3) approximation show that the interacting boson model is able to describe the main features of band crossing.
