Abstract
Serologic factors producing direct agglutination and positive antiglobulin reactions with penicillin coated erythrocytes are gamma globulins. The agglutination is produced by a 19 S component and the anti-globulin factor is a 7 S component. Autologous Cr51 labelled and penicillin-treated erythrocytes are rapidly destroyed when infused into a patient with a high 7 S titer of agglutinating antibody, although they survive normally in a compatible recipient. Keywords
