Low Loss Electromechanical Optical Scanner

Abstract
A low loss electromechanical scanner based on rotary motion is presented, which allows to address a number of optical fiber sensors by means of only one optical fiber connected to the detection and signal processing unit. To alleviate radial and axial tolerances and to reduce insertion losses, quarter-pitch graded index lenses are used. Details about design and experimental results are reported.© (1987) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering. Downloading of the abstract is permitted for personal use only.
