Validation de la traduction de l'Inventaire d'épuisement professionnel de Maslach et Jackson.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to validate a French-language version of the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) with two samples of 260 Quebec daycare workers and 123 Quebec nurses. Indices of internal consistency, long-range stability, factorial validity, convergent validity and hypothetico-deductive validity are reported which emphasize the positive psychometric properties of the translation. In addition, cut-off points used to categorize MBI scores according to burnout symptomatology levels and based on scores distribution of Quebec samples are compared to American standards; based on the categorization, in a year, 6.9% of the day care workers have developed serious symptoms of burnout. Practical implications of the results are discussed.
