Abstract
Solubility data of organic probes in polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and polyisobutylene (PIB) obtained by inverse gas chromatography (IGC) were collected from the literature and analyzed. Applying the principle of corresponding states, empirical correlations were derived and presented for the estimation of solubilities of nonpolar and slightly polar probe molecules in these polymers. Estimation of other thermodynamic properties, such as activity coefficient of the solute, Henry's law constant, Flory–Huggins interaction parameter, and heat of solution through the use of these correlation equations, was demonstrated. Keywords
