Abstract
A gross anatomical and microscopical study of the external nose of Tarsius bancanus borneanus demonstrated the typical strepsirrhine shape of the nostrils and an extreme platyrrhine condition. The wide internarial area possesses no sinus hairs. The concepts of strepsirrhinism and haplorrhinism may be used to characterize the different shapes of the nostrils, but they do not have any taxonomical significance. Keywords
