Abstract
Spinal fluid, trichloracetic acid filtrates of blood plasma and serum, and ultrafiltrates of plasma and serum contain a substance which yields NH3 on mild acid hydrolysis equivalent to 5-10 mg. of glutamine/100 ml. of plasma or serum. The level of glutamine in the blood is increased by amino acids such as (dl) [alpha]-alanine and decreased by insulin hypoglycemia and adm. of glucose. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
