Abstract
One hundred forty-five black-billed magpies (Pica pica hudsonia) from 4 age groups were given blood and bone marrow examinations. All were collected within 10 miles of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The parasite rates were correlated with age of bird and season of examination. The parasites of a few sets of siblings were compared with those from their respective parents. Argas persicus (tick) is reported for the first time from Colorado.
