Abstract
The Penna bitstring model of biological ageing has been successfully used to illustrate senescence due to mutation accumulation. We introduce several new factors including parental care which produces a noticeable increase in the fitness and life expectancy of the population, a changing reproductive range which shows the distinct relationship between senescence and fertility, and semelparous individuals which produce several new observations such as a cyclic population
