Abstract
The influence on switching surges of different line zero sequence impedances is analysed here by means of the transient network analyzer (TNA). Consideration is given to two different 735 kV lines with various connections of ground wires to towers. In addition, the reclosing surges evaluated with a sophisticated earth-return simulation are compared with those obtained with the usual constant-inductance simulation. Keywords
