Abstract
Calcitonin infusion stumulated Ca and inorganic phosphorus (Pi) excretion via bile and Pi excretion via saliva in thyroidectomized sheep. Salivary Pi excretion was about 20-fold more than Pi excretion via urine. Hypophosphatemia induced by calcitonin was largely due to the increment of salivary Pi excretion. Key words: Calcitonin, saliva, bile, calcium, phosphorus, sheepKeywords
