Abstract
A nearly monochromatic x-ray beam of 7 to 12 keV has been produced with an infrared free-electron laser (FEL). This is achieved when the intense laser field generated and stored in the laser optical cavity is backscattered by the FEL relativistic electron beam. Keywords
