Abstract
A scoring method based on 8 different dermal traits has been devised that provides a good separation of Down syndrome (D. S. ) patients from both normal individuals and schizophrenics. The probability that an individual with a given D. S. score has the Down syndrome has been estimated. The possibility for diagnostic laboratories to meet the increasing demand for cyto-genetic diagnosis by using a combination of dermatoglyphic and cyto-genetic methods is idscussed. Keywords
