Abstract
Until recently there was no safe and effective means of counteracting the retinopathy of prematurity associated with oxygen supplementation. There is now compelling evidence of the efficacy of vitamin E—a natural antioxidant—in the prevention of that undesirable sequela of the vital therapy that has improved survival of very low birth weight infants. Keywords
