Abstract
Anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) are associated with different forms of both primary and secondary vasculitis and glomerulonephritis. These antibodies are directed against different enzymes located in granulocyte granules. In this review ANCA-related antigens and solid phase assays for ANCA detection will be discussed. Furthermore, we will address the clinical relevance of ANCA and will deliberate on their possible pathogenic implications. Keywords
