Abstract
Transitions in the wavelength region 4.9–8.1 Å from Br , , , , and have been identified in spectra from laser-produced plasmas. The identifications were made using ab initio calculations of wavelengths and oscillator strengths. Spatially resolved spectra were recorded for laser irradiation intensities from 3× to 4× W/. The dependence of the spectral lines on the distance from the target and on the irradiation intensity was very useful in distinguishing the transitions from different ionization stages.
