Abstract
Eleven monosomic lines of the hexaploid wheat, "Holdfast", were studied cytologically and their individual morphological features identified. The chromosomes of the monosomic lines have been compared with the chromosomes of monosomic lines of "Chinese Spring". Monosomes occur regularly as a result of the meiotic instability of "Holdfast". Some of the monosomic lines exhibit many aberrant features at meiosis, while for others meiosis is more regular than the parent variety.
