Abstract
Highly immunosuppressive and non-suppressive antilymphocyte sera (ALS) were compared by quantitative micro-complement fixation. Skin graft survival was correlated with micro-complement fixation properties using purified membranes of spleen cells as antigen. The immunochemical anti-membrane activity of the ALS was due to both specific antigens of lymphoid cells and non-cell-specific antigenic determinants. The results obtained immunochemically were confirmed morphologically by indirect immunofluorescence staining. The biologic activity of ALS was discussed with respect to cooperation between specific and non-cell-specific antibodies. Keywords
