Abstract
Monocyte-enriched human blood cells seeded on to sperm whale dentine and cultured for up to 20 days failed to produce any morphological signs of resorbtive activity, although multinucleate giant cells were formed. In contrast, preparations containing known osteoclasts derived from bone resorbed the same substrate within hours.Keywords
