Abstract
The feasibility of optoacoustic imaging was investigated for ophthalmologic application in the treatment of glaucoma. Difficulties in the treatment with laser cyclophotocoagulation are mainly due to uncertainties in the localization of the ciliary body. With laser optoacoustics it is possible to localize the position of the ciliary body on enucleated porcine and rabbit eyes. Additionally, the changes in the optical properties of the tissue induced by coagulation with a diode laser were observed. Keywords
