Abstract
Variable, or marker, loci have been mapped on all five of the autosomal linkage groups of the Mediterranean fruit fly, Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann). Double homozygote stocks were constructed for most pairs of mutant genes in order to observe epistatic interactions and for use in future chromosomal mapping studies. Stocks were constructed that have multiple markers on three and on four of the linkage groups. A technique using these stocks to map any newly discovered traits to linkage group in a single two-generation cross is described.
