Abstract
A total of 146 measured muonic Coulomb capture ratios of anhydrous solid binary compounds has been used to derive average muonic Coulomb capture probabilities for 65 elements. The measured capture ratios can be well reproduced by ratios of these capture probabilities. This is also true for ratios in ternary compounds, in glass, and in alloys. These muonic capture probabilities can serve as a basis for the application of muonic x rays in elemental analysis. Keywords
