Abstract
Viomycin is relatively nontoxic. In mice, the LD50 was 241 mg./kg. by intraven. admn. and 1, 381 mg. subcut. Subcutaneously injd. rats tolerated 50 and 100 mg./kg. for 6 wks. and dogs the same doses intramusc. for 150 days. Cats showed disturbances of gait and posture in 4-7 wks. on 100 or 50 mg., respectively. Viomycin is not irritating by any route.Keywords
