Abstract
We study the fluctuations of the ultrasonic attenuation in a weakly disordered mesoscopic conductor. Since the ultrasonic attenuation can be viewed as a measure of the electronic absorption, it is proposed to use these fluctuations as a test for the recent prediction of the enhancement of the absorption fluctuations in isolated geometries. Keywords
