Abstract
The work of Day et al., Kang and Sucher and Kang and Foland is discussed. It is shown that their expression for the scattering amplitude contains a divergent phase factor, and argued that the term in the Born-Oppenheimer amplitude which they describe as `fictitious' is not so.Keywords
