Abstract
Recent evidence from differential centrifugation and electron microscopy emphasizes the complexity and inter-relatedness of subcellular units. The enzymatic properties of these units, as isolated from liver homogenates by differential centrifugation, are summarized. The significance of these data for the living cell is critically evaluated. The relative limitations and advantages of differential centrifugation and staining techniques are discussed.Keywords
