Abstract
The opaque Serber model is extended for ‘‘stripping’’ reaction in heavy ion projectile dissociation by incorporating a critical distance between constituent clusters in the projectile. This model describes the higher energy part of the fragment inclusive spectra. The results are discussed in comparison with the local-momentum plane-wave Born approximation calculations by McVoy and Nemes and with the Friedman model. Keywords
