Abstract
The author discusses the ambience presented by casinos to their customers. He explores the issues of space as an attraction to people being brought into casinos for the purpose of “play” and the compatibility of the casino's internal design with the concept of “welcoming” space and its degree of legibility: how well a first time visitor can “read” the activities and opportunities within its spaces. Keywords
