Abstract
The surface relaxation, vibrational modes, mean-square amplitudes of vibration, etc., have been calculated for the (0001) surface of a model hcp crystal in which the particles interact through a Lennard-Jones potential. The results are virtually indistinguishable from those for the (111) surface of a fcc crystal. Keywords
