Abstract
A limited outbreak of trichinosis involving 4 individuals, originating from a common source, is described. Histologic confirmation was not obtained, but serologic tests were positive in all patients. Three of the patients were treated with a new antihelminthic, thiabendazole. Although clinical improvement appeared to result from thiabendazole, further evaluation of this agent is necessary. Prevention, rather than therapy, of trichinosis still appears to be the most effective method of control.
