Abstract
The fetal adrenal gland requires pituitary trophic hormones such as ACTH and probably prolactin for the normal prepartum surge of cortisol. Normal function of the fetal pituitary-adrenal system is not necessary to maintain, but is required for prepartum changes in maternal plasma progesterone and estradiol concentrations.This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
