Abstract
The passive advection of tracers in the field of three identical point vortices is considered as the hydrodynamical analogue of the restricted three-body problem. The chaotic motion is analysed by means of two-dimensional maps, its parameter dependence, Lyapunov exponents and topological entropies. The latter can be obtained as the growth rate of a dye droplet's perimeter in time. Similarities and differences of the vortex and gravitational problem are discussed. Keywords
