Abstract
Experimental verification of cancellation of second-order distortion from a directly modulated laser diode by amplification in an erbium-doped fiber is demonstrated. This cancellation occurs when the distortion of laser diode and the distortion generated in the erbium-doped fiber amplifier are out of phase.<>Keywords
