Abstract
A new and simple way to determine the handedness of a room temperature cholesteric liquid crystal by comparison with a cholesteric phase of known screw sense and from the characteristic optical patterns displayed by cholesteric and nematic droplets floating in an isotropic solvent is described. Keywords
