Abstract
The high-resolution electron microscopy investigation of defects of the orthorhombic superconductor YBa2Cu3O7±ε has been carried out using image simulation. Besides the defects involving oxygen overstoichiometry previously described, two types of defects involving a cationic disorder have been identified. The first series of defects corresponds to the formation of SrCuO2 type defects, i.e. an oxygen substoichiometry, whereas the second series deals with a shifting of the barium and yttrium planes along c.Keywords
