Abstract
The collection of several species of Bruchomyia and Nemopalpus by my colleagues and myself during recent work with Phlebotomus has stimulated the present note, since the three genera are rather closely related and appear to frequent somewhat similar habitats. During the course of Phlebotomus collecting in Mexico, Panama, the West Indies, Peru and Brazil, some eighty or more specimens of these genera, representing seven species, two of Bruchomyia and five of Nemopalpus, have been gathered together. The purpose of this note is to describe, or redescribe, this material, pointing out in passing certain structures of possible taxonomic significance or phylogenetic interest. The material has mostly been studied after mounting, so that in only a few cases has it been possible to make notes on the color and character of the vestiture. Keywords
