Effect of Rest and Activity on the Serum Protein Fractions

Abstract
Fractions of serum protein were determined in 15 normal persons before rising in the morning, and again after 8 hours of normal activity. In 10 of these persons hemoglobin and hematocrit levels were also determined. Although the average hemoglobin, hematocrit and globulin fractions did not show any significant alteration, there was a significant and consistent rise in the albumin fraction, in some subjects as high as 0.75 g/100 ml.
