Abstract
This paper was prepared for the VII Congress of INQUA, the International Union for Quaternary Research, in Boulder, Colorado, U.S.A., August-September 1965. It is a short survey of the deglaciation of a sector of the central part of the North-European glaciated area, and an attempt at a synthesis, based mainly on the studies of the writer, stressing the glaciofluvial activity. The writer is indebted to ‘Norges almenvitenskapelige forskningsrad’ and to ‘Det videnskapelige forsknings-fond av 1919’ for financial support during field studies, and for the drawing of the Figures to Mrs. K. Gran (Fig. 5) and Miss I. Dilland. Keywords
