Abstract
A method has been described for assessing, in a relatively objective manner, fluctuationin the amount and pattern of social contact for any given patient in a ward environment, as well as for the ward as a whole. The method is thought to be a useful supplement to any means of clinical assessment of patients, and may be used for more documented research into otherinterpersonal aspects of psychopathology. Its use in a ward therapeutic program has been described. Keywords
